Toilet Twinning Project: A Visit from Libby

We were excited to welcome Libby to talk to us about our recent project, Toilet Twinning. During her visit, Libby took us on a journey through the fascinating history of toilets, including the invention of the flushing toilet by Sir John Harington. She explained how this invention revolutionized sanitation and changed the way we live today.

Libby also shared valuable insights about companies that promote eco-friendly practices in toilet design and waste management, helping us understand the importance of sustainability in our daily lives. To end the session on a thoughtful note, Libby led us in a prayer, reminding us of the importance of gratitude and responsibility.

We always enjoy having Libby with us—her knowledge and enthusiasm make these sessions truly memorable!

Mrs. Hawkings, one of our school governors, led Collective Worship on Wednesday. As a school, we are focusing on courageous advocacy. During the session, St. Peter's pupils were encouraged to reflect on its meaning and explore how we can bring it to life in our daily actions. Together, we discussed the importance of noticing issues, taking action, and making a positive difference in the wider world. Stay tuned, as St. Peter's has some exciting projects coming up, including work in support of WaterAid!

Mrs Hawkings (a school governor) led Collective Worship on Thursday. The focus was on the weekly theme of 'sacrifice'. St Peter's were asked to reflect on what they could sacrifice to ensure the future of our world; for example: replacing a few meat meals per week with some vegetarian meals instead; making sure we turn the tap off whilst brushing teeth; walking rather than using the car.

Libby Woodward, a Senior Pastor at Chelmsford Vineyard Church, led Collective Worship with a focus on the value of 'Integrity'. The children enjoyed feeding their friends!

Children from Class 4, with Mrs Hawkings (a school governor), led Collective Worship - all about what characteristics a person needs to be a good friend. The majority of the characteristics identified during the worship matched with St Peter's Fruits of the Spirit - kindness, self-control, gentleness, goodness, patience, love, faithfulness and joy.
