History

Class 2 Titanic Day February 2023- Class 2 went back in time and dressed as passengers on the Titanic. We ate food which would have been served from the menu onboard, made our own Titanic using reclaimed materials, made our own porthole as a view from our cabins, made Chinese lanterns to remember the passengers and crew who did not survive and danced the Waltz before having afternoon tea.

Class 4 enjoyed a wonderful Greek Day. The children made Greek pottery out of clay; they made charms our of clay too. Class 4 created their own mosaic tiles as well as painting on modroc. Also, Class 4 carved patterns into soap. Class 4 acted our Greek tragedies and comedies - they were excellent.

Class 3 have been loving learning about The Romans; they enjoyed a trip to Colchester Castle.

EYFS - UNDERSTANDING THE WORLD: BEARS The children learnt when teddy bears were invented and sorted pictures of new and old bears. They used adjectives to describe each bear and learnt new words such as tatty amd worn.

EYFS -UNDERSTANDING THE WORLD: DINOSAURS. We created our own timeline of events to try and understand how long ago the dinosaurs existed on Earth. The children tried to visualise what millions looked like by looking at grains of sand from the sand pit. They put some important events in their lifetime onto the timeline. We have also been learning how we know about the past and making our own fossils and dinosaur bones to then use in our Archaeological dig.
